Cela fait un moment que j'envisage de tenter ma propre interprétation de Méduse, sans doute mon personnage mythologique favori, depuis toujours.
Le personnage principal de mon roman graphique, -que j'appelle temporairement "Stella"- partage plusieurs points communs avec Méduse et La Vouivre, une femme-serpent issue du folklore européen. La nuit dernière, un peu avant d'aller dormir, j'ai ressenti le besoin de tenter une esquisse que voici. Bien sûr, les serpents de l'avant sont techniquement mauvais puisqu'ils ne devraient pas pendre de cette façon: le personnage émerge de l'eau stagnante. La raison, c'est que je pensais tout d'abord dessiner Stella debout avant de finalement prendre la décision qu'elle évoluerait dans une rivière.
Quoi qu'il en soit, j'aime plutôt bien ce dessin, réalisé en moins de trente minutes, et je l'utiliserai sans doute pour dessiner une couverture intérieure: c'est un excellent reflet de l'un des chapitres de mon histoire.
I've been toying with the idea of trying to produce my own rendition of Medusa, arguably my all time favourite mythological character.
There is a lot in common between the main character of my graphic Novel- temporarily called "Stella"-, Medusa and La Vouivre, a snake woman belonging to the European folklore. Last night, before I went to sleep, I felt the urge to try a sketch and here it is. Of course the the front snakes are technically flawed as they shouldn't hang this way with the character emerging from the still water. That's because, my first intention was to draw Stella standing up, before I decided she would be waving in a river.
Anyway, I kind of like this sketch that I made in less than thirty minutes and I will certainly use it to draw an inner cover as it is reflecting very well a chapter of my story.
